Simon Ritter is the Deputy CTO at Azul. Simon has worked with Java since JDK 1.0 both at Sun Microsystems and Oracle. At Azul, he continues to help people understand Java and Azul’s JVM products. He represents Azul on the JCP Executive Committee, the JSR Expert Groups for Java SE and the OpenJDK Vulnerability Group.

Tim has over a decade of experience with the IoT, big data, distributed computing, streaming technologies, and Java programming. Previously, he was a Developer Advocate at StreamNative, Principal Field Engineer at Cloudera, a Senior Solutions Architect at AirisData and a senior field engineer at Pivotal. He blogs for DZone, where he is the Big Data Zone leader, and runs a popular meetup in Princeton on big data, the IoT, deep learning, streaming, NiFi, the blockchain, and Spark. 

Jeremy Davis
Jeremy Davis

Jeremy Davis is the Chief Architect for App Services at Red Hat. Jeremy helps Red Hat’s customers to design and deliver applications, work with Red Hat engineers to create great products, and occasionally speak at conferences. Before joining Red Hat Jeremy wrote a lot of code in C, C#, Groovy, Java, JavaScript, Objective-C, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, Visual Basic; mostly Java. I currently co-lead Red Hat’s Application Development Community of Practice, and used to lead Red Hat’s Microservices Community of Practice and the Business Rules and Workflow SME group. Jeremy has recently spent a lot of time with Reactive applications and programming.

Cătălin Tudose

Cătălin Tudose is a Java Champion and an experienced software engineer, working with Java since the early 2000s. Cătălin took part in various telecommunications and financial projects as a Java senior developer, Java technical team lead, and architect. He currently works as a Java and Web Technologies Expert at Luxoft, and he is an author at Pluralsight and Manning. Cătălin develops and delivers training for companies and universities on Java, Spring, Hibernate, Design Patterns, Code Refactoring, Automated Testing, and Software Architecture. With Luxoft, Cătălin initiated and introduced the “Advanced Java Programming” course for the students pursuing their master’s degree at the Faculty of Automation and Computer Science in Bucharest.

Buhake Sindi is a senior enterprise Software engineer, architect, and developer specializing primarily in Enterprise Java (Jakarta EE, formerly Java EE) with close to 2 decades in Software development & engineering experience. In the past few years, he has dabbled in various DevOps roles, building CI/CD pipelines for enterprises as well as now migrating platforms from physical infrastructures to the cloud. Outside of programming, he occasionally makes music or creates events to introduce programming to young children through Devoxx4Kids South Africa (which he started in 2017).

Mary is a Java Champion and a passionate Developer Advocate at DataStax, a leading data management company that champions Open Source software and specializes in Real-Time AI, Big Data, DB-as-a-Service, Streaming, and Cloud-Native systems. With over 25 years of hands-on experience in the software engineering and technical architecture areas, she began venturing into developer advocacy in 2018 at IBM, and has never looked back since then. She enjoys reaching out to developers and helping them succeed in their work. Outside of her day job, she is an active tech community builder, and currently the President of the Chicago Java Users Group.
